Bowerbird Painting Series

'Blue Bower'

I have been working on a small series which focuses on bower birds. Well to be honest I've been working on more than one different series which I am want to do, but more about them later. The idea of a bower bird's bower appeals to me, as somewhere where beautiful collected pieces are gathered and curated, and which is made sculpturally beautiful, nestled into the forest somewhere. I feel like it is almost representational of the home, and family, and the lifetime of experiences and objects we collect, and carefully curate, either in our homes, or our memories.
