The sky was stormy, the hills were green: Life on Norfolk Island

I think I have finally finished this painting... I think ( the rain didn't work so well).  

I'm experimenting a lot with different styles of landscapes at the moment, so my paintings won't be consistent. Lots of different influences, and ideas....which will hopefully gell into a style that is all mine.

I am really inspired by the dramatic landscapes around me, especially the big skies, the rolling hills and the forest. If you have read my list of 7 inspiring landscape artists post and have looked at some of their work, you may see some of their influence..you may not. I will never copy a painting, but I will definitely learn from their styles and techniques. Many times I have heard the expression ''nothing is new'' when it comes to art, and while that may be so, I think over time, there is a possibility to find something distinctly your own.

Anyhoo, I'm off to the Norfolk Island Foundation Day re-enactment...have a lovely day.
