We broke the Christmas Tree

So far the whole Christmas preparation has been a comedy of errors. It started with my genius decision to make this years Christmas wreath- aka Advent Kranz with Norfolk Pine. Bad idea. The sap is really sticky, the fronts bend in when you need them to bend out...or straight, and its impossible to tie with cotton, so it ended up really daggy and uneven.  I still took it over to Government house and they have hung it on the front door....I think they took pity on me. 

And then, you wouldn't believe it. After a successfull tree decorating play date with his new girlfriend (fellow 2.5yr old) Trouble got a bit obsessed with decorating, undecorating...repeat...the tree. And he managed to pull it over. And bent the top of it. Then, in my wisdom, thinking I could fix it, I managed to snap the top off. 

I had great plans to make an advents kalender..fail...

and now, oh crap, must run..I think the meringues are burning.
