#Artforfloods 2022
Another year, another disaster. Kate Pittas and I have fired up #Artforfloods in response to the current flood crisis. The times we have done this previously we were ecstatic with the response, but this time we have been completely blown away, 200 artists responded in 2 days, and even now, before sale day people want to get involved .
The spectre of natural disasters looms bigger than ever in our collective conscience as the damage is more extreme. To know that places like the Northern Rivers are under a real threat from climate change has galvanised people. It’s made me want to be able to do more. I have ideas of how to do this, but it’s forever overwhelmed by the…. Overwhelm. To dwell on these issues, to really think about them and to try to help others think about them is overwhelming .it’s a lot .I’ve been on the verge of tears a lot these past weeks, seeing the distruction, and it’s only peoples love and resilience and their drive to do good that makes the difference.
anywya, #artforfloods. It’s on tomorrow. The big sale day. Over at instagram. Over at the website, be there or be square.
