I have been fussing over these paintings for weeks.. and I just wasn't getting anywhere, until I cracked it and decided it was time for a big #whiteout. And that's when they started to flow. Always when you  relax and do something intuitive and  stop fussing over the paintings, that things start to work.

I went to a presentation last night by some printmakers from around the world, that resonated with me. In particular the work of Navajo artist Melanie Yazzie. Her approach to her work, the ideas she explores and her very calm power, her presence was just incredible. She is obviously a very special women. 

It made me think once again about my own personal history, and my connections with place. It makes me wonder about where all these paintings are coming from. There is a deep vein of inspiration there, and the more I explore the ideas, the more there is to play with.
