Despite a two year old going mental from two days indoors after torrential sideways rain and near cyclonic winds (ok...i'm exagerating a bit...it was VERY windy..but not quite cyclonic, just howling), I still managed an hour in the studio today to work a little on these two drawings.
They are small..A5, so quite manageable. I have yet to ink in some more detail, but they are on their way.
After a crazy week of working, rain and looking after hordes (well, again..an exaggeration) of children, I am looking forward to next week normalising a little. And hopefully I will get some more time in the studio.
I need to get a whole stack of image references and photos of landscapes printed, and of clouds, to have beside me while I paint, but I stupidly left the printer in storage. Duh! I will have to go find someone to print them for me in town I guess. Meanwhile, it's time to save up for a scanner/printer, especially if we are going to be here for a while. That and a work bench. Moving countries (or in this case same country, but remote island territory) is expensive business, and unfortunately we have not yet caught up on all the bills that go with the move...so I am holding of on lots of studio related spending...bench, scanner/printer, paint medium, white paint, canvasses, and am making do without.
There's a lot of making do on this island, which is both a good thing and bad thing. Good that people have the nous and the skills and the initiative, and the attitude, and bad that some people go without when they are struggling, when they really shouldn't have to. Mind you, you could say that of a lot of places.
Anyway, nuff talk. Have a lovely weekend, and Aussies out there, enjoy your long weekend. Happy Australia Day for monday.
